The Border and Lakeland HYB (Holstein Young Breeders) weekend rally proved to be a resounding success, drawing over 200 enthusiastic participants from across the UK and Ireland for a weekend filled with activities, competitions, and camaraderie. The 2-day event was held by kind permission of The Hodgson family of Wormanby and Harrison & Hetherington.
Attendees were treated to a diverse program of events tailored to cater to all levels of experience and interests. From educational workshops and practical demonstrations to showmanship and judging, participants had the opportunity to enhance their skills and knowledge under the guidance of industry experts and seasoned professionals.
One of the highlights of the rally was the field to foto competition, where young breeders had the chance to showcase an animal and compete in various classes judged on criteria such as presentation, washing, handling and photography.
In addition to the competitive aspect, the weekend fostered a sense of team spirit and friendship among attendees, creating a supportive and encouraging environment for young Holstein enthusiasts to connect, learn from each other, and forge lasting relationships within like-minded individuals from the UK Dairy industry.
The success of the Border and Lakeland HYB weekend rally can be attributed to the dedication and passion of its members, parents and volunteers. As the next generation of dairy industry leaders, the young breeders who participated in the rally have demonstrated their commitment to advancing the standards of Holstein breeding and promoting the future sustainability of the sector.
With such a successful event behind them, the Border and Lakeland HYB club looks forward to building on this momentum and continuing to support and nurture the talents of its young members. The positive energy and enthusiasm generated at the weekend rally serve as a testament to the bright future of the Holstein breeding industry in the region, driven by the passion and dedication of its young breeders.
The event's success bodes well for the future of the industry and underscores the importance of investing in and empowering young talent to ensure its continued growth and prosperity. Border and Lakeland HYB would like to extend our thanks to all those who supported the club over the weekend.
